Mariah Carey has released a lyric video for her The Rarities cut "Save the Day" in partnership with PushBlack, a website / social media account with a focus on publishing articles centred on Blackness.
This is what the music video shoulda been, instead of having Mariah cry outside of a Tennis court.
Mariah has never exactly shied away from being her Blackness, but it's great to see her using her platform for advocacy of Black stories and issues which impact the Black community all the same. Honestly, when some of these white girls with voices come out wanting to be Mariah Carey, it's not just the voice and career longevity they want, but the white-passing Blackness too. Y'all know who you are.HENNYWAY.
Mariah has a book out and an album of previously unreleased material, and we're mere days away from seeing "All I Want For Christmas Is You" chart again. Mariah stays winning.
