Perfume deliver their first televised performance of "Time Warp" on FNS MUSIC Festival 2020

I was not expecting a "Time Warp" performance so soon, but bitch, here we have it. Perfume took to Fuji TV's FNS MUSIC Festival 2020 in their tailored couture outfits and budget boots to perform something old ("Dream Fighter") and their new joint "Time Warp". 

I'm not sure how I feel about this routine. There are moments from it that I really like, but it's the pockets of stillness that through it off for me. "Time Warp" is a song which feels so locomotive, so I was expecting the routine to match the energy, and at times it does. But at times it doesn't. The bassline is what drives "Time Warp" and is the most prominent part of the song, it's more than likely the bassline that your body moves to as you listen to the song. But the routine is set to the melody, which is where the stillness comes into it, because the melody isn't as constant as the bassline is.

Maybe I'll like the routine more in the music video, with better shots, editing and cut-aways to other shit during the moments of stillness. That's providing the music video is actually good. With this whole anniversary shit that "Time Warp" is being promoted as part of, I can't deal with another "Saisei" style video which makes "Time Warp" also feel like it's just a continuation of P³ (P Cubed). Perfume have put out a decent song. They need to give me a music video which hearkens back to how creative their shit used to be. But watch us get a music video which is just them dancing the routine on the set they shot the single cover on and not a damn thing more.
