Crystal Kay and DJ Swing Spin The Music and vibe out on a livestream

I don't know what Crystal Kay's management team are doing. But it's been looking like Crystal Kay has been taking her own promo into her own hands as of late and actually doing some pretty cool things.

A couple of nights ago Crystal Kay did a live mix show where she live chatted with some of her fans whilst DJ Swing span songs spanning Crystal's entire career to date. It was a much needed reminder of just how many great bops CK has in her discography and it was great hearing songs and knowing that you could hop onto Spotify and run them back now that her full Sony discography is finally available globally. Still nothing on Apple Music or YouTube Music, but we ain't talking about that tonight.

DJ Swing and Crystal Kay did two sets, both of which are available on YouTube. But given Japan, who knows how long they'll be up for. So be sure to watch, listen, like and comment on the vids now in case they disappear in a couple of weeks.

Ever since leaving Sony it's felt like Crystal closed the door on a lot of those older songs, with no idea whether it was personal decision or a business one. But it's nice to see CK revel in her catalog and really embrace it. The real kick was getting to hear her sing parts of old songs with the great voice that she's developed over the years. Crystal did not duck on a single note.

Hopefully Crystal Kay does more shit like this. Her Makinae Monday's on Instagram have shown that she has such a nice Internet personality, to such a point that she really should consider letting some of her shit live on YouTube. A bitch may as well build that channel, get that subscriber count out up, some ad coin and a plaque. Japan absolutely hates the Internet, but it's where music lives now. And with Crystal not getting much in the way of ads and local marketing in Japan, she needs to really start taking what she's doing online as a necessity for her career.
