Perfume are still racking in that clothing line coin with yet another Perfume Closet drop, which comes with a collection inspired by “Polygon Wave”.
I can absolutely see “Polygon Wave” being THAT song that Perfume perform for every set for the next 2 to 3 years. And I ain’t mad at that. It’s a safe and reductive song, but still a good song, with a great dance routine. It really is a shame that the “Polygon Wave” TikTok challenge didn’t take off, but Perfume barely did anything to push it. But all that is old can become new on TikTok. So maybe in 7 years time some kid will discover “Polygon Wave” and it’ll blow up on there.
HENNYWAY.
The clothing.
It’s strange that Perfume didn’t use a snippet of from one of their songs for the promo video. “Flow” would have made perfect sense, given it’s the single releasing around the time of this drop, and thematically it would’ve worked with the creative direction of the video. It’s even more weird given that Perfume accompanied this campaign video with another where they talk through the Perfume Closet collection in detail, and that this video DOES use “Flow”. Perfume Closet generally has ties to looks and themes which are present in Perfume’s own outfits and music videos. This isn’t the case with every collection, but is most certainly the case with this one. The 6th Perfume Closet collection features pieces inspired by “Polygon Wave” (the grid motif), “Saisei” (the colours of the outfits from the music video) and “If You Wanna” (the floral prints Perfume wore on the single covers, in the music video, and for most televised performances of the song).
I drag Perfume’s clothing choices A LOT. And their stage outfits are still terrible. But the past couple of Perfume Closet collections have been pretty decent. I’d rock some of those pleated oversized T-shirts and the “Polygon Wave” inspired hoodie. But, chile. Those prices?
Not for me.
But y’all fans go right on ahead and snap it up. Keep a-chan, Kashiyuka and Nocchi paid.

I’m honestly surprised that the “Polygon Wave” music video wasn’t Perfume in some of these outfits, with Kashiyuka driving the Perfume Closet truck.
