Jessie Ware teams up with Google for a gig from her living room

Jessie Ware teams up with Google for a gig from her living room | Random J Pop

Jessie Ware's fourth studio album What's Your Pleasure? is upon us and she's treated us to a Google affiliated home performance of songs from the album and an oldie from Tough Love. Despite this being a Google video, Jessie was using an iPhone. You'd think Google would have sent her a Pixel or edited the phone out, as it was during a section where they easily could have. But I guess they figured 'What's the fucking point. She's got a Google Nest in the background. That's fine'. Even though it's WAY in the background.

This session marks the first time that Jessie has performed songs off of her upcoming album and only the second time we've gotten a performance of "Spotlight" since the song released a month ago.

There's not much to say when it comes to a live performance from Jessie Ware, because she always sounds as good live as she does on her studio recordings. "Say You Love Me" is the one song on the Tough Love album that I don't listen to, but she sounded fantastic singing it here.

Her backup singer in the top right was doing the absolute most. I couldn't stop watching her. She said 'Bitch. I'mma sell every single piece of this, that and me'.

Jessie Ware should be dropping a visual for "Save A Kiss" anytime soon, as she held an open casting for anyone and everyone to take part in it. It's a shame that Jessie Ware didn't shoot all of her videos for her upcoming album prior to the pandemic. "Ooh La La" and "Save A Kiss" would have fared a little better if they had full music videos with the level of production that "Spotlight" had gotten. It's not even about trying to get a hit, because "Spotlight" barely did a thing commercially despite being being being a perfect song with a perfect visual. It's just about content, branding and giving the songs leases of life. Especially given that one of the songs sounds like something from Dulingo's album and the other sounds like something from Robyn's. Also, Jessie is vastly overlooked when it comes to her visuals. Her music videos are always beautifully shot and styled, and have a very set aesthetic which has become the Jessie Ware look. So it's a shame singles from this album are being denied that.
